I am a Chemical Engineer with a PhD in Chemical Engineering in the area of Process Systems Engineering. I obtained my PhD at the Faculty of Engineering from the University of Porto (FEUP), Portugal, under the supervision of Professor Romualdo Salcedo and Professor Domingos Barbosa.
I was a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), USA, where I worked with Professor Ignacio Grossmann. During my stay at CMU, I have collaborated with PPG Industries in several projects. I was affiliated and located in the PPG Glass Business and Discovery Center, where I worked under supervision of Dr. Yu Jiao.
After CMU, I became a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the National Laboratory of Energy and Geology (LNEG) in Portugal.
Currently, I am a research scientist in the Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences & Engineering Division at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST). I am a member of the research group of Professor Omar Knio.
